Today MEMS participated in an evacuation drill facilitated by the VA Hospital. This drill simulated emergency personnel and the VA's response if neighboring states experienced a natural disaster, such as a hurricane. In 2005, Hurricane Katrina made today's practice scenario a reality. Hospital patients and others were loaded onto military aircraft and buses to evacuate into Arkansas and neighboring states.
