Special Tactics Advanced Response Team
The MEMS STAR Team has provided tactical medical support to Arkansas Law Enforcement since 1990. The team consists of LE/paramedics and LE/physicians with more than 150 years of combined tactical medical experience. All Team members are certified law enforcement officers with emphasis in tactical law enforcement operations.

The primary mission of the STAR Team is to be present in the "hot zone" during dangerous, high-risk incidents, ensuring emergency medical care is readily available to officers and civilians in these volatile environments. Their rapid response and on-site medical expertise help mitigate risks in critical moments, providing life-saving care where it's needed most, often in the midst of law enforcement operations such as SWAT raids, hostage situations, and active shooter events.
Although all members are certified law enforcement officers, they do not conduct arrests. Their certification is solely to ensure they are knowledgeable in law enforcement tactics and training, allowing them to operate effectively within the high-stakes environment of tactical operations.
