Who is Metropolitan EMS?

MEMS was founded as a public utility committed to its mission, prioritizing exceptional medical care over profit. Its core purpose is to deliver the latest, evidence-based, and outcome-focused medical care to its communities. As Arkansas's largest non-profit EMS provider, MEMS employs approximately 400 dedicated professionals covering 1,800 square miles, providing life-saving services to more than 400,000 citizens and visitors in central Arkansas.

Looking for an EMT School?

MEMS' EMS Academy offers a paid-to-learn 8-10 week EMT-B program called Rookie School. With one of the highest NREMT pass rates in the country, MEMS Academy is committed to preparing students for a successful career in emergency medical services. Graduates are offered full-time positions with MEMS after completing the program and passing the NREMT. The program is generally available three times a year, with class schedules and application deadlines announced ahead of each start date.
